Sun Yat-sen was a Chinese philosopher, physician, and politician, who served as the provisional first president of the Republic of China and the first leader of the Kuomintang. He is considered the "Father of the Nation" by Chinese nationalists, however despised by the Northern militarists (especially the Zhili and Fengtian Cliques), who have dominated Chinese politics ever since the KMT's downfall in the mid-1920s.
