Karl Liebknecht is a leading German socialist revolutionary and can be considered the "German Lenin". In 1918, he was one of the main agitators of the failed September Insurrections, which saw bloody fights between German authorities and socialist revolutionaries. He later formed the Socialist Party (SP) together with Rosa Luxemburg where, as chairman, he represented the actionist wing of the party.
